Doctor Who: Face the Raven - My ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS Reaction (S9E10 Review)

Hey Whovians, DragoNate here, and if you've seen my latest Doctor Who reaction video, you know exactly what I'm talking about. This week, I dove into Doctor Who Series 9, Episode 10: "Face the Raven," and let me tell you, I'm still reeling. "Furious" doesn't even begin to cover it.
From the very beginning, "Face the Raven" promised something intense. We're pulled back into a familiar situation with Rigsy (from the 'Flatline' episode in Series 8), who's sporting a mysterious, ticking chronolock on his neck. This immediately sets a dark tone, pulling the Doctor and Clara into a desperate race against time. The investigation quickly leads them to a hidden "trap street", a secret sanctuary for aliens tucked away in the heart of London. This concept alone is fantastic - a melting pot of familiar and new alien faces, all living under the watchful eye of its enigmatic governor.
And who is that governor? None other than Me (Ashildr), the immortal character we've seen earlier in Series 9. Her presence always adds an interesting layer to the narrative, and in this episode, she's controlling a perilous situation with an iron fist, enforcing peace with the ultimate penalty: a date with the Quantum Shade, a terrifying, raven-like entity.
As the mystery of Rigsy's chronolock deepens, so does the tension. The pacing of "Face the Raven" is relentless, building a palpable sense of dread. But nothing, and I mean nothing, could have prepared me for the pivotal moment that completely changed the trajectory of the episode and my feelings towards certain characters.
My Unfiltered Reaction: Disbelief, Anger, and Betrayal
If you watch my reaction video, you'll see my disbelief morph into genuine anger. The bravery shown, the choices made, and the sheer injustice of it all left me absolutely furious. Without giving away too much for those who might not have seen it (or who are watching my reaction blindly), the way events unfold around Clara Oswald is something I'm still trying to process. Her character arc, her connection with the Doctor, and the ultimate sacrifice she makes... it was a gut punch.
And Ashildr? Oh, Ashildr. My feelings for her have taken a dramatic turn. Her actions and her role in this episode, whether intentional or not, led directly to one of the most heartbreaking moments in modern Doctor Who. I can honestly say, after "Face the Raven," I hate her now. The decisions she makes, the contract she enforces - it all feels like a profound betrayal that left me incandescent with rage and sadness.
This episode isn't just a sad farewell; it's a brutal, emotionally charged journey that pushes the Doctor to his very limits. It sets the stage for what follows in Series 9, and believe me, you need to watch my reaction to see just how upset I truly was.
